In today’s #TechTuesday blog post we will talk about one of the newest and most exciting technology on the rise: 5G,
5G has been sort of a buzzword for the past few years, and while most people don’t understand the intricacies of 5G, most would at the very least understand that this newer technology would mean faster speeds. They couldn’t have been more correct! 5G is reported to have a download rate of 1Gb/s at a minimum! Just to give you an idea of how fast that is in comparison to our current 4G systems, with a 5G connection, you could theoretically download multiple high definition movies before the 4G connection finished the first movie.
What may have started off as a buzzword a few years ago is now finally completing its first steps into replacing our 4G networks. With telecommunications companies such as Verizon and AT&T already have beginning to build the infrastructure of the future, it won’t be long till it’s 2020 and we are downloading games, music, and movies in a matter of seconds
Still not excited 5G has many other real-world uses besides downloading movies at blazing speeds or refreshing your Twitter feed faster than you can even think, like greater connectivity for self-driving cars, reliable and consistent for greater infrastructure and emergency services, wireless readily available even to remote areas, the list goes on and the applications continue to grow every single day.
Here at SimpleFly Tech, we are extremely excited about the future and the potential prospects that 5G will bring to the table and we hope you are too!
